Japanese Food and Drink in Cambridge
It's not all raw fish and sake. There is an incredible variety of food in Japan, ranging from simple and filling bowls of noodles, through to the most beautifully presented meat, fish and vegetable dishes. The philosophy behind traditional Japanese cooking is that food should be eaten fresh and in season, with as much of its original flavour retained as possible. Many Japanese diners enjoy nothing better than to wash down their meals with a drink or two, and although sake may be the traditional choice, ice-cold lager is the most popular tipple by far.
Unfortunately, Japanese food is somewhat under-represented in Cambridge, but there are one or two places where you can get your sushi fix, and if all else fails, you can always rustle something up in your own kitchen! If it's a glass of Asahi or Kirin that you fancy, then there are an increasing number of establishments with Japanese imports on tap or in their fridges.
